By becoming a new member of GSU AMA, you will be invited to take advantage of all the wonderful opportunities the American Marketing Association has to offer. Filling Out Your Membership Application

Applications for GSU AMA membership can be picked up at the GSU Marketing Department (Robinson College of Business, Suite 1300) or printed directly off www.gsuama.com. The application packet includes valuable information for new AMA members and several options to enhance your personal AMA experience. Applications are accepted at the GSU Marketing Department reception desk.

AMA Membership Dues and Payment

Along with your application, you will need to provide payment for your one-year membership dues. GSU AMA does not accept payment by credit card, but you can pay with cash, check, or money order. Please make checks payable to the American Marketing Association.

Your initial membership fee is $79.00. This payment includes membership on both collegiate and international levels. After one year, membership renewal is only $39.00! The international organization will contact you in advance of your membership expiration date so that you may renew your AMA membership without interrupting valuable benefits.

Additional Benefits and Options

AMA Bridge Membership

Renewing your collegiate membership is important. If you are a collegiate member when you graduate, you are eligible to receive Bridge Membership status with the professional association. This status gives you unbelievable discounts on AMA professional membership after graduation.

AMA Atlanta’s Professional Chapter

GSU AMA has a close relationship with Atlanta’s professional AMA Chapter. All collegiate members are eligible to join the professional chapter at a discounted rate of only $20.00. Membership with the professional chapter as a collegian is priceless. Please visit www.ama-atlanta.com for more information on the many benefits of dual membership.

Marketing Publications at Discounted Rates

There are also several publications available at discounted rates for AMA collegiate members. These publications can be valuable assets when researching marketing topics for classes and careers. Our membership application includes several subscription packages available to all AMA members.

New Member Program

Upon completion of your membership application and payment, you will receive an AMA New Member Welcome Packet from both the collegiate and international chapters. These packets include valuable information concerning your AMA benefits. Packets will be mailed immediately after open-membership for the current semester ends. These dates can be found on our current Calendar of Events.

Member Activity

As an AMA member, you only get what you put in. AMA Campus Events are open to all Georgia State University students, but there are many benefits that are only available to GSU AMA members. Such benefits include access to our password protected Career Line webpage, special invitation to AMA Atlanta’s Marketing Mondays, an opportunity to serve on GSU AMA’s executive board, and a chance to attend Georgia State University marketing events such as the MAX Awards and the AMY’s. However, these events are only open to “active” members of the GSU chapter. Active membership is achieved by attending no less than 50% of chapter events each semester. New Members receive our calendar in your New Member Welcome Packet, and it is uploaded on our website as well. Plan ahead and become an active member; member exclusive benefits shouldn’t be missed!

All current chapter members are encouraged to attend monthly chapter meetings. These meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month and begin at 7:15 PM. Member passwords to GSU AMA’s Career Line webpage are only given to members attending chapter meetings, so be sure to attend!

Your AMA Officers

GSU AMA’s executive board consists of several dedicated officers who focus on making your chapter more beneficial to you. GSU AMA encourages its members to contact executive board members should any questions arise. AMA officers are here for you and can assist you with all your membership concerns. Contact information for each officer can be found on the chapter website.

Opportunities

Each spring, GSU AMA elects new officers to serve the chapter the following year. These elected officers are often active undergraduate members, but leadership opportunities are available to graduate members as well. If you are interested in a leadership opportunity, please contact the executive board at AMASTUDENTCHAPTER@YAHOO.COM.
